The Women’s Health Visibility Index

THE ASK

75% of adults aged 18-34 use the internet to manage their health. Yet social media algorithms disproportionately remove and suppress medical content made for women.

Digital suppression is invisible by design. So, how can CensHERship make this threat to women’s health impossible to ignore?

Frame the systemic devaluation of women’s health as a stock market crash.

Why The Stock Market?

The visual system of stock tickers is powerful. You don’t need to be a stockbroker to feel concern for the economy at the sight of red arrows and high percentages.

Our goal was to take advantage of the associations this system already has.

It evokes a sense of urgency.

It symbolizes deeper, systemic problems.

It demands everyone’s attention. Because that’s who women’s health affects.
